Hance Family Foundation Spring 2015 Newsletter
Spring is finally here! It took a really long time to arrive, but how grateful we are for the sunshine, the birds singing, and the tulips popping up everywhere! I love spring not only for the warmer weather, but also for one of my favorite activities: spring cleaning! I’ve learned that spring cleaning is not just about sorting through things, cleaning windows, and organizing the garage; it’s a chance to clean out your inner clutter. It is never too late to begin anew. It’s important to take care of your mind and body, just like you do your house. It might seem difficult, but as Audrey Hepburn said:
“Nothing is impossible. The word itself says, I’m possible!”
The HFF 5K is a great way to start you off on the road to a positive spring season. You can walk, jog, sprint—it doesn’t matter! You will be surrounded by friends, neighbors, and a community that cares and that loves to have fun, all while supporting a great foundation that works tirelessly to make a positive difference in children’s lives. Emma, Alyson, and Katie appreciate everyone who joins us on this special day, and I promise you, these three super-special fans are walking, jogging, and sprinting by your side!
If you can’t make the race or Family Fun Day, there are plenty of other ways to get involved in our great organization. Volunteer at our cleanup days at Centennial Gardens this weekend (May 2 & 3, 9 a.m. to noon). Bring gloves and plan on getting dirty! We must make the gardens look fabulous for May 16! You can also donate a prize to our auction—a great way to be a part of our big day. Please visit our website or Facebook page to find out other ways to get involved. We are always in need of volunteers!
I hope to see lots of smiling faces on the 16th. I have been praying for sunshine, so I hope my prayers are answered and we’re blessed with a beautiful day! Thanks for all you do, and know that while you are giving others happiness you are sure to find happiness yourself!
Love and Prayers, Jackie
